This year, UCP of Huntsville and Alabama Respite will be administering a grant from the Department of Mental Health to provide funds for respite The funding is for caregivers of children ages 0-19 who have developmental delay and show high incidence of mental retardation, and adults 19 and above who have a diagnosis of mental retardation.

Families may apply for $100 per quarter and use these funds to hire their own respite provider, giving them the flexibility to choose whomever they wish, at the time that works for them.

We are excited to be working with the Department of Mental Health on this project and hope that you can provide your families with this information.
